Shaolin Kung Fu Assessment & Certification System
The Hellenic Shaolin Kung Fu Assessment & Certification System [hereinafter referred to as Duanwei System] has been specially established by the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization to promote the development of Shaolin martial arts, to raise the level of Shaolin martial arts techniques and theory, and to establish a standard for evaluating the technical level of Shaolin martial arts in Greece.
Duanwei Rankings
[A] Duanwei: Pre-Duanwei, Primary Duanwei, Middle Duanwei, Senior Duanwei and Advanced Duanwei, from low to high levels as follows:
Pre-Duanwei [Chin.: duànqiánjí 段前级]: 1st Pre-Duan, 2nd Pre-Duan
Primary Duanwei [Chin.: xiǎoduànwèi 小段位]: 1st Duan, 2nd Duan, 3rd Duan
Middle Duanwei [Chin.: zhōngduànwèi 中段位]: 1th Duan, 2nd Duan
Senior Duanwei [Chin.: xiānjìnduànwèi 先进段位]: 3rd Duan, 4th Duan
Advanced Duanwei [Chin.: dǐngjínduànwèi 顶级段位]: 6th Duan, 7th Duan
[B] Honorary Duanwei [Chin.: róngyùduànwèi 荣誉段位]: Honorary Middle Duanwei, Honorary Senior Duanwei and Honorary Advanced Duanwei, from low to high levels.
Duanwei System Application
Any Member or Associate of Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization [EPOS] may, in accordance with the individual's conditions, apply for the desired Duanwei through the EPOS, or through its branch organizations.
Applicants must use the required "Duanwei Application Form" issued by the EPOS.
Applications for under 3rd Duan can be done directly through Duanwei evaluation qualified EPOS branch organizations and Masters.
Specific Cases of Examinations
Following the decision of the Examination Committee, may be considered an application for evaluation and promotion in two consecutive Duans. The application is only valid for the 1st Pre-Duan, 2nd Pre-Duan and the 1st Primary Duan. The application is exceptionally permitted, only on particular cases of students who are unable for any reason to attend the relevant evaluation session and since they have chronologically fulfilled the required period of studies, corresponding to each Duan.
Management and Evaluation
The EPOS is the highest organization for the management and evaluation of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei System in Greece. It consists of the Duanwei System Office and the Evaluation Committee, and is responsible for the approval of Duanwei rankings, monitoring the implementation of Duanwei operation, and the issuing of Shaolin Kungfu Duanwei certificates, badges or emblems and uniforms.
The Evaluation Committee consists of one Director, one Deputy Director, and 2-5 Committee Members.
Branch organization members of the EPOS may apply for the establishment of Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei evaluation bodies [Evaluation Team or Evaluation Committee]. With the approval and authorization of the EPOS, the Evaluation Team or Evaluation Committee is responsible for the evaluation of the Pre-Duanwei [1st and 2nd Pre-Duans] and Primary Duanwei [1st, 2nd and 3rd Duans], reporting the evaluation results to the EPOS for examination and approval, and applying for the issuance of Duanwei certificates and badges or emblems.
The Evaluation Team or Evaluation Committee, consisting of one Director, 1-2 Deputy Director[s], 3-5 Committee Members, is subject to EPOS approval.
Membership must have the following components: two members holding above-4th Duan level, and the remaining members holding above-3rd Duan level.
Middle Duanwei [1st and 2nd Duans], Senior Duanwei [3rd and 4th Duans] and Advanced Duanwei [5th and 6th Duans] evaluation is organized and conducted by the EPOS.
Certificates, Badges or Emblems, and Uniforms
The unified design, development and issuance of certificates, badges or emblems and uniforms are the responsibilities of the EPOS.
Rights and Responsibilities
Recipients of Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei are eligible to participate in competitions, training, research and other activities hosted and organized by the EPOS.
Recipients of Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei will observe all rules and regulations related to the Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei System on their own free will, defend the reputation of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duanwei System, and actively participate in a variety of Shaolin martial arts activities.
Instructors of Shaolin Kung Fu should hold at least the Middle Duanwei 2nd Duan and be at least 21 years of age.
